March 6th 2008. Yesterday we saw, like a lot of vacationers like to do, Yaldor reading a book. It appears to be “THE KYOTO PLOT” written by Ruben van Dijk, first book of a new Dutch genre called eco-thrillers that was recently started by publisher A.W. Bruna in the Netherlands. |

Yaldor together with Upul our Tuk-tuk driver. In Sri Lanka people mostly use public transportation to travel. For us the Tuk-tuks are most ideal to travel with, especially for the small rides to the beach. |

February 16th 2008. Arrived on the Bandaranaike Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is raining hard, we can see the lightning flashing through the air in the distance. It appears that the water drains cannot process all the water very well in Colombo. |

February 15th 2008. It is very exciting if Yaldor can travel with us as hand luggage. At the check-in it appears to be no problem at all. We do have too much luggage weight, but even that is not a problem according to the ground flight attendant. |

I said goodbye to the Ambassador yesterday. He stayed with me for a few days to prepare me for my first journey. I think I know where I am going. I heard Corrie and Peter talking about Colombo, and I do not mean the person we know as private detective or world traveler. |

Saturday, January 19th we recieved Yaldor from Jeroen van Oosterhout. Yaldor will remain with us until February 15 in Nijmegen. After that we will take him on tour. The destination will still be secret. |

Yaldor’s name starts with the second letter of KYOTO. Like the other GNOMEDIARIES gnomes Yaldor is named after one of the letters off the Kyoto Protocol. Yaldor is the second GNOMEDIARIES travelling gnome and has started his journey in Nijmegen the Netherlands on January 19th 2008.
