The amount of people that rarely or never buy durable products has been reduced from 20 to 7 percent. Six out of the ten Dutch people say that changes in climate made them thinking about innovations in durable products.

Over 50 percent of the 1300 questioned, say they indeed live more durable in contradiction to last year. It mainly concerns consumption of energy (84%), separating waste (79%), reduction of water use, buying habits and more use of public transport (35%), but also investments in environment friendly initiatives (22%)and less consumption.

Almost everyone on the investigation has double glass installed.
Also a high output heater, recharcheable batteries are heavily used.
On the contrary, almost everyone has a energy wasting freezer or dryer.
According to "Arjen Klopstra" of LvDO, people want to buy durable products, but they are not willing to change their habits. Durable is important and can cost a bit more, but people still want comfort. Things that ask for a different behavior like hanging out the laundry to dry instead of using a dryer are harder to change. You also see this in the choice of transport.

I think it will just take some more time for people to adjust. When more and more people will change their habit, people will start doing it too. Maybe within a few years, the scenery of wash drying outside will come back.
