Not only with our Gnomes, but also in our personal lives, we (the team) try to live according our message as good as possible. So do I. Since I have a pretty newly built house that has been built by the newest isolation standards, there is not much improvement to achieve in that area. Unfortunately, as many people, I also don’t have the possibility to add additional resources like solar cells or anything like that to reduce my power usage. That does not mean however, that we can’t do anything to contribute to our environment, battling climate change. There are many other ways to achieve this.

For instance we could start by changing our lights to types that use less energy. As Hermen explained, changing your existing lights to e.g. LED lights, you could reduce the power usage for lights by 90%. So LED lights will not only reduce the power usage, but will also save you a lot of money.

Another thing we could do is to be smart with our waste. Energy providers already started with producing energy from biological resources like peels from coffee-beans. Also, many companies are working on increasing efficiency on existing technologies to make them as energy efficient as possible. Continuously, new ways are found to reduce energy use and maximize energy production from existing resources. Together, the impact is huge.

As we all try to do our bit, Kolden will travel the world spreading the news about this. Making people aware, encouraging people to continue their good work and make sure you are heard.
