May 1st 2008. Good evening, Had another busy day. In the true Pacific Northwest style I needed some good coffee to get me going so a quick fix of caffeine from Olympia's local roaster got me humming nicely.
Batdorf & Bronson's got my patronage thanks to their company ethos, take a look at how well they behave dancinggoats.com Well it was off to Olympia's farmers market where everything available has to made / grown in Washington.
I helped them set up for opening and I think they appreciated my apple stacking capabilities. Whilst there I was hounded to perform, the crowd loved me, she even looked up from her breakfast at one point.
Found many hybrids in Olympia which are becoming more & more popular especially as "gas" is a whopping $4 gallon. I tried to convert that to Euros & litres but they nearly threw me in the back of a V8 ambulance as they thought I was out of mind. Still plenty of gas guzzlers, but I'm not supposed to talk about that.
I did stroll down to the waterfront where at the port I found they had just taken delivery of some whopping wind turbine blades. All good stuff.
Finished my day at a local store Einmaleins - owned by Trixy & Mathias (a German, but that's ok, we actually get on fine). My host at 510 Interiors (Rik Brotherton - a supercool Brit) must have a lot on his mind as had this strange smile on his face when he left and gave me a big good bye wave. That was 4 days ago and I still haven't seen him......... |
